Living with God in the Hereafter

QUESTION

Do you have eternal life?

ANSWER

The Bible shows a clear path that leads to eternal life. First, we need to confess that we have sinned against God: "All have sinned and fall short of the glory of God." (Romans 3:23). We have all done something that is not pleasing to God that causes us to receive punishment. Since our sins are essentially against an eternal God, only a punishment that is also eternal is sufficient. "Death is the wages of sin, but true and eternal life with Christ Jesus our Lord is the gift of God." (Romans 6:23).

However, Christ Jesus, who was without sin (1 Peter 2:22), the eternal Son of God became a human being (John 1: 1,14) and died to atone for our sins. “But God commendeth his love toward us, in that, while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us” (Romans 5: 8). Christ Jesus died on the cross (John 19: 31-42), taking over the punishment we deserve (2 Corinthians 5:21). After three days, He rose again from the dead (1 Corinthians 15: 1-4), proving He had defeated sin and death. “Let us give thanks to God, the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ! Because He has great mercy on us, He gives us new life, by raising Jesus Christ from the dead. This gives us a firm hope ”(1 Peter 1: 3).

By faith, we must change the fixation of our minds on Christ-who He is, what He did and why-for the sake of salvation (Acts 3:19). If we put our trust in Him, believing that His death on the cross to atone for our sins, we will be forgiven and promised eternal life in heaven. “God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life” (John 3:16). "If you confess before men that Jesus is Lord," and truly believe that God raised Jesus from the dead, you will be saved "(Romans 10: 9). Only faith in the work that Christ has done on the cross is the true path that leads to eternal life! “It is so, for by the grace of God ye are saved through faith in Jesus. That salvation is not the result of your own efforts, but the grace of God. So you have no reason to brag about it ”(Ephesians 2: 8-9).

If you want to accept Jesus Christ as your Savior, here is an example of a prayer. Remember, reciting this prayer or any other prayer will not save you. Only faith in Christ can save you from sin. This prayer is just an easy way to show your faith in Him and thank Him for giving you salvation.
